Real change in a community comes from people who already live there.

In each district where we work, we partner with a local NGO to lead community-based activities. These organizations are deeply embedded in the communities they serve, and that local presence is essential to the reach and effectiveness of our programs. They bring insight into community dynamics, relationships with local leaders, and the trust of the families we are trying to reach.

One Heart Worldwide now implements all community-based activities through these NGO partners, and their role in our model has grown significantly in recent years. Through our partners, we conduct school health programs, support Healthy Mothers Groups, run community mobilization campaigns, and ensure that our planning and budgeting reflects local needs and priorities. They are also central to our exit strategy, developing the local champions who will continue advocating for quality MNH care long after OHW has moved on.
