One Heart Worldwide has transformed since starting out in Nepal in 2010. In the first year, our small team reached just around 300 pregnancies in rural areas.

Fast forward 11 years later (now with a team of 76 Nepali staff members!) and we are projected to reach 109,000 annual pregnancies with improved access to quality maternal and neonatal healthcare through OHW's programs by the end of this year.

In other words from now on, EVERY YEAR 109,000 Nepali women will have the opportunity to have a safe pregnancy with a health professional attending their birth.

With the transformation of OHW, we have also seen a drastic transformation in maternal healthcare outcomes in the districts we work.

6 years after we have introduced our model, the "Network of Safety" into a district in Nepal we see 4 significant outcomes:
- 89% reduction in maternal mortality
- 87% reduction in neonatal mortality
- 833% increase of births with a Skilled Birth Attendant
- 1971% increased number of institutional deliveries (instead of at home)

This just shows that, not only do we show up, but we also create a lasting impact that will continue to improve maternal and neonatal healthcare in Nepal for years to come.

This month our Communications Manager, Katie Dyas, will be in conversation with our new Director of Development and Partnerships discussing all of this... and more!

Come join us after work on Tuesday, December 14th for our December edition of the Happy Half Hour!
