Why does Hadiya Birthing Center need to be upgraded?

“The Hadiya Birthing Center was providing Maternal Newborn Health (MNH) service with minimum resources before and is now very pleased to have OHW provide technical support and birthing center upgrades. OHW helped the Birthing Center conduct a needs assessment to identify the current need to deliver MNH service directly from the Hadiya Birthing Center.

After renovations and Birthing Center equipment support, the Hadiya Birthing Center would be able to provide quality Institutional delivery and antenatal care services. The nursing staff is currently doing follow-up of antenatal care and postnatal care via telecommunications. After the upgrades, the BC will be able to increase institutional delivery percentages by 50-60%.

Alongside strengthening the referral mechanism, the Udayapur Municipality has proceeded with an updated Ambulance for the Hadiya Birthing Center as the current ambulance is old and in poor condition.”
