Stephanie Beckstrom, J.D., Board Member
Stephanie is an attorney with a rich background in international human rights and community-based public interest law, employment law and general litigation.
During the height of the COVID pandemic, Stephanie served as Vice President of Regulatory Affairs for Contour/ICU Health working with FDA, NIOSH and a team of experts to quickly bring much-needed PPE through the regulatory process under COVID emergency protocols. In that role, Stephanie also oversaw the company’s donations of tens of millions of pieces to of PPE both nationally and internationally.
Prior to that, Stephanie worked as a litigation associate at both Paul Hastings, Janofsky and Walker in San Diego and Heller Ehrman in San Francisco.
Stephanie also had the unique honor of serving as a law clerk for the late Honorable Judge David R. Thompson of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. There, she researched, analyzed and wrote legal memoranda advising the panel of Ninth Circuit judges on legal issues and recommended rulings in the cases before them.
Throughout her career, Stephanie maintained an active pro bono practice including successfully representing clients in their claims for asylum as well as handling indigent worker’s rights lawsuits and claims before the California Labor Commissioner.
While in law school, Stephanie had the opportunity to work, and to supervise junior law students’ work, in Ghana during two consecutive January-terms through a joint project with Stanford Law School, Harvard Law School, Harvard School of Public Health and the Ghanaian Legal Resource Centre.
Stephanie received her Juris Doctor from Stanford Law School in 2005. Prior to attending Stanford Law, Stephanie graduated with Highest Honors from the Honors College of Michigan State University in 2000.
Stephanie loves living in San Diego, California with her husband and two children. She is a Reiki Master/Teacher and currently runs her own Integrative Life Coaching and Healing Arts business.
